This suggestion is needed pronto. In-game reporting. I know others have suggested this but I wanted to take a few minutes and go into detail. First of all, we all know there are lots of hackers. Right now to report them you have to go into discord and type this time-consuming message. I can guarantee you over %90 of people who know about this method and see a hacker won’t report them just because of how inconvenient it is. This is just the players who know about it though. Most people report players by going to the pause menu, pressing on their profile, and reporting them to Microsoft. They think it goes to the hive though. This leads to numerous issues. First off Microsoft has to waste time going through these reports that they have nothing to do with. This wastes time and money. Second, of the player who reported the hacker incorrectly will think that they will get the hacker banned. Then if they ever encounter this hacker again they might think that the Hives Moderators suck and backlash the server a little bit. Lastly, the hacker gets away untouched. (Obviously, it might not just be hacking I am just using it as the subject as the majority of reports are for that.). There are a few fixes for this. First off, an easy one, (temporary fix) is to modify the UI so that it says something on the pause menu about how Hackers should be reported in the discord. This means players who incorrectly reported hackers before will stop doing so fixing the issues of wasting Microsofts time and the player thinking that the mods don’t do a good job. But, the hacker still gets away. Another idea of a fix (perminate one) is to have a report item or command just like the one in build battle that lets players easily report hackers. Now I would like to say why the discord server report method is not good. The first one I would like to mention is the one from the beginning. It takes time. This is for players who are fortunate enough to have a PC. What about Mobile or Console Players? Mobile players can report players but I’m sorry nobody is going to leave mid-game to report a single player and then have to relog into Minecraft, join the Hive, rejoin any party they were in, and the Hacker might not even get banned. Now, what about consoles? You cant even chat on discord with them meaning consoles have no way to report hackers which is just ridiculous. Now let’s say you are fortunate enough to be able to download discord on your device. It does not mention anywhere in the server to report a player you have to join their discord. Let’s say it did though. The majority of Hive players are kids and many have restrictions on their devices. This can range from not being able to access the web to not being able to download an app without their parents giving permission. Unless someone is a die-hard fan of the Hive or encounters so many hackers that they are going to download a program just to report them in itself is ridiculous and just shows a better reporting system is needed. Then, they download discord if they are able to with their parent’s permission which won’t be instant in most cases meaning the hacker has gotten away already unless they memorized the name. Anyways, then to chat you must create a discord account and many parents are hesitant these days because of the uprise in scams. Also to make it even worse when you search for “What is discord” (Most parents will do this) it will say that it is a place to chat with starangers in freinds which will raise alarms. Then if they go and create an account they must join the Hive discord. Lastly, they have to link their Minecraft account to discord which can be almost impossible to do on mobile, and then figure out the format to report a player and do so. All of this is not mentioning the many other issues that may arise along the way like not having storage and one of the biggest ones of having to be 13 or older to create a discord account. This means anyone under 13 cannot report hackers to the hive which is another ridiculous thing. A Majority of players will only report players if they already have discord because at the end of the day some people are very lazy and don’t want to have to go through downloading something that isn’t even mentioned in-game to report some player. You would think such a big server would have an in-game reporting system by now that doesn’t limit it to players over 13 and is complicated to do so. At the end of the day, it’s a game, and if someone is gonna get reported it should be simple and easy. That’s all I wanted to say I know I might have sounded dramatic but there are lots of parents who are strict and don’t allow apps and such not mentioning all the other issues metioned.
