I disagree with this suggestion for reasons that I’d like to point out. For one, this would likely be abused by players. If you allow a text box, anything could be typed in it, meaning unrelated or inappropriate things could be included. Secondly, many people who speak different languages play on The Hive. Having to translate those reports takes extra time and some times wouldn’t be possible. Thirdly, some reports wouldn’t be understood, as the extra information provided from the player may not make sense to the moderator handling it. At that point, it would be as if they had no extra information to go off of.
Having only preset options are way better for reports because they eliminate or limit the scenarios I gave above. They’re faster for players since it only requires clicking buttons and they’re faster for the staff handling reports since they don’t have to deal with anything I listed above. There are just too many factors that would make reporting less efficient, and that’s why I disagree with your suggestion.
Pretty sure there is a chat box, but not for certain reporting reasons. I believe if you do cheating there is a chat box you can use.
Who would ever do that? It has to be seen by a staff member, so they are just getting themselves into trouble. Silly goose
This also includes translation stuff since it may be hard to understand after using something like google translate. It’s really not that hard to understand what people mean. Pretty sure most, if not all, moderators have had plenty of experiences with children, therefore good at understanding bad English and misspelling. Once again, silly goose.
Anyways, I do agree that presets are much better. Just having the option for chat box would be very helpful in some cases.
