A celebration of the release of Skyblock: Horizons!!
Note
Yes, this is based on the Skyblock server, but this suggestion is entirely about the Hive minigame server. Just wanted to specify that in case this topic runs the risk of being taken down under assumption of being about the Skyblock server.
Hive is on the ground.
Skyblock is in the sky.
What if Hive was also in the sky?
Note about SkyBlock
No.
Here’s the idea: in the weeks before SkyBlock: Horizons releases, there would be some… occurrences across the world of the Hive.
Starting simple with some minor changes. Blocks randomly flying off in the distance (think Hermitcraft Season 8), bright flashes, and deep rumblings from within the ground.
Nothing too game breaking, just out of the ordinary.
Then the real stuff starts. Let’s place these things at one week before the release, for time frame’s sake:
~7-5 days before: New LTMs appear in popular games (suggestions would be greatly appreciated).
~5-3 days before: Major changes to gravity, mechanics, and physics inside of the main hub and all microhubs.
~2 days before: New quests appear from Mailbot asking for help to figure this out. There is no way to complete these (yet…).
~1 day before (preferably in the hour before release): Ever so slowly, chunks of the world will get ripped out and sent into the sky. Gamemodes would fail to load, and some would get taken up all together. The world is experiencing an upheaval.
Release day: Hive is in the sky! The hub is fractured, requiring parkour to get to places like the castle and the lighthouse. A new cave system is found under the town leading to a crystal that created the changes (thus completing the quests). Lore…?
The biggest change would be PERMANENT UPDATES to gamemodes. Maybe level 100 Death Run and Hide and Seek. Or new maps and features in Block Drop, Ground Wars, and Block Party. Or possibly even new Parkour Worlds… worlds.
This new version of the hub could be a permanent change, or an event based timed thing. There could even be a new major hub quest for all players to complete to restore the world.
Final note
Overall, this concept is very rough and not at all polished. I mean I had the idea very late at night, which might explain the craziness of it. Literally any feedback would be amazing. Thank you.
