Marketing works differently everywhere, it varies from company to company. The only ones that have actual knowledge about their financial situation and marketing strategies are the members of the Hive Team.
They release content depending on what is ‘trending’, for example Treasure Wars: Seasons, as seasons have become a large part of the gaming industry, or mounts/hats/pets for additional cosmetics, as people love to stand out. People also love having more special hats, which is likely why Hive decided to add rarities and charge them differently - that is how marketing is done.
358 people have voted for this suggestion, pretty much no one complaints about the name being ‘Hive++’, as it just makes most sense. Naming it ‘Ultimate’, ‘Premium’ or whatever doesn’t really fit into the hierarchy. How would you explain people what rank is better.
Ranks in first place need better perks, which is the main factor for purchasing a specific unlock. When considering purchasing something, you will first look into the advantages that you are granted upon purchasing, not how the rank is called. I assume no one says 'I won’t purchase Hive+ cuz the name sucks".
Sure, it’s up to Hive at the end, and they could overhaul their rank system completely in the future, but saying “hive++ wouldn’t be successful for marketing” is simply not correct. ;)
