🐝 Hive Forum - New UI Concept!

Hey!

I created a fresh concept redesign of the Hive Forums and wanted to share it with the community for feedback and thoughts!

The current forum design works fine, but I think it could use a modern UI update .. something more fun, vibrant, and aligned with Hive’s unique style.

My New Concept Design:

I added:

Rounded elements: Gives everything a soft, modern look.
Bold colors for categories and tags to make browsing more fun and easy.
Improved navigation with clear icons and separation.
Search bar front and center for easy access.
Visual activity cues: Replies, views, and timestamps are cleaner and easier to read.
Enhanced dark mode: Keeps it stylish and comfortable for the eyes.

I might help with making the HTML (only designing ui) too! In case if it will be hard for the Hive Teams to make it…

Sorry (to disagree with the non British legend and no offense)this just looks kinda messy I mean it could use some sprucing up but that just looks a bit confusing

I’d vote but I don’t think this is something Hive can do idk but it’s run by Discourse (the website for forums isn’t fully made by Hive) so idk if they can.

This isn’t happening. Switching to and learning how to use a new service provider would be too much of a time investment. If you could get it to work on discourse, then you have a chance.

There are so many HTML coders who can do this. That is not a very hard deal. And the Hive also have free service providers. So it’s not that hard.

We can just change the Discourse? By rebuilding completely new HTML.. Instead of depending on any other platforms.

That’s the point. Hive has a contract with discourse so they don’t have to deal with the high server costs and there’s less managing on Hive’s part. Hive has the capability to build its own independent forums, it’s just too much of a financial burden. Now unlike 99% of forumers (Including myself), you seem to actually have some coding skill, but Hive has to spend time thoroughly checking for bugs, possible exploits, glitches, adding translations, etc. You didn’t need to.

Also don’t discredit your argument without a strong and explained counter. You want people to finish reading with more positives than negatives in mind.

I mean, they just want a more modern feel to the forums. Even if it won’t happen, it’s still a really cool and good-looking idea!

I like the aesthetics.

I will vote for it because I think its easily doable in a week ( I don’t know why others think it will take long to code that )

BUT I think The Hive should focus more on other ideas in the forums because they need more active players and more game modes.

For example, all my friends are leaving The Hive build battle for Hypixel just because of the legendary vote celebration particles they have.

Another example is my friends wanting to play duels PvP but The Hive doesn’t have any PvP duels available so once again we all have to change servers.

This is bad look on The Hive because these other servers offer the same things and more so it makes my friends migrate away from The Hive and stick to those other servers.

Personally, I think there are many easy ways to combat this that many individuals have posted about that have not been considered by The Hive.

Yes Shogunater is right cause they are with a contract with discourse, and discourse won’ change it’s ui just for some random forum with like 50-75 consistent users to change it’s ui. Now albeit I like the aesthetics, and I think it could work. I just still I think the current ui is fine, but it is a good modern design.

other people have said this but

im pretty sure hive has little control over what they can customize on the forum. remember, the hive forums are run on discourse, which hive has no control over what discourse can change.

but i could be wrong and hive might be able to change this. if so then i would love this!

I know many people keep mentioning discourse and in my opinion there’s no reason to mention it.

If “The Hive” wants to go through with this they can get it done with one good programmer in a week with their own custom site.

The Hive probably wouldn’t have forums if not for discourse.

I mean if you’re willing to pay for it we can have a new forums? But this one already works fine.

Yes I understand that’s why I haven’t personally made a post regarding this. (I actually believe it would be a waste of resources right now even though it’s very cheap as I had said linked below in my reply to this post)
