Oke dis Suggestion is for the mobile players out there.
like other servers hive should add crossplay management.
its a type of setting where players can choose if they want crossplay or not,
yes its better together but it’s unfair for the average mobile players who has a low chance of winning in pvp mini games
some servers do this type of setting by putting people who turned off crossplay to their own specific server which only the players who have the same devices are allowed
the only downside to that is how you can manage those because its kind of like a cs but with people who have the same device.
the only thing that would avoid the setting is if the players friend has turned on crossplay
or custom servers.
also the setting should avoid minigames that don’t require alot of pvp like death run and just build and others
also mobile players who use controllers that turned off crossplay should be the same device as console players.
cons
- hard to manage
- server lag i think
- probably less players if the setting is not apparent
- new players will probably not know what is crossplay
pros
- fair pvp
- less raging people
- more fun less stress for mobile players
(except the tryhards)
idk, this idea has alot of cons to it but it would make pvp much more fair than it is right now and id like for hive to make dis happen
(edit) i didnt know that hive already has this but it is sloppy
and i think it needs a re thinking about it
like
- changing the minimum players for pbmm to 100 or 50 players
- better api
- the queing of mobile players who use external devices
- off and on switch
- making it more apparent to players
- add player count command that shows players and what the device are they on. /players
- make it simple and understandable for new players

Hey There! Welcome to the forums!
The Hive already has PBMM (Platform Based Matchmaking) that queues mobile players to mobile, console players to console and PC players to PC. You can read more about it here (click me!)
I hope that answers your question, if you have any further questioning, feel free to ask or Personal Message me. Thanks!

He’s taking about a way to choose whether u want to use pbmm or not

By this, I am pretty sure he wants that mobile players should be queued with mobile. As I read it, that is what I think he said. Correct me if I am wrong.
Also, yes, he is talking about adding a feature that lets you choose if you want to crossplay or not, but he’s whole suggestion focuses about the equality in PvP gamemodes.

I do have some problems with the pbmm my self
It sometimes doesn’t work and if ur gonna say “tHeRe sHoUlD bE mOrE tHaN 300 pLaYeRs oNlInE tHaT aRe tHe sAmE dEvIcE”
There is literally 1000 ppl playing skywars and that isn’t enough for the pbmm to work?

I agree, PBMM sometimes break, and it breaks a lot. But it also works so that’s something good.
It’s the best feeling u can get if the pbmm works
Yeah it works for PC a lot but when I play on mobile it 60% breaks. I mean, it’s not easy to implement it perfectly but, yeah, let’s just end it here
I’ll just vote for it cause controller players say it’s too easy against mobile players
I think Splodger said that they would not be adding this… can someone clarify this?
It doesn’t simply ‘break’, PBMM is automatically disabled when a game type has under 300 players in it (measured per queue type such as solos, not per whole game). This is re-evaluated every 10 minutes. Therefor it doesn’t break, it is simply disabled

What happens if you are in a party… Ex: my friend plays on Xbox (using a keyboard and mouse) and I am pc… While we are in a party, which device group are we playing against
U get put on the pc queueing
i never knew that pbmm was a thing
but i hope hive makes it obvious about the pbmm thing
and the off and on switch
also a revamp / rethinking of the pbmm
and hopefully hive does that when the found a way to queue mobile players who use controller / keyboard
You would be queued into the PC queue.
When you’re in a party, the devices of each of your party members are looked at, and you are put into the queue of the party member(s) that are playing on the device type that is highest on the following list:
PC
Consoles
Mobile/tablets
For example, if you are playing on an Xbox, and your friend is playing on an iPad, your party would be placed into the console queue.

And what if I am mobile but my friend is mobile but connected a controller. Please answer, thanks!
PBMM is not currently based on input, it is based on the device that you are playing on.
Right now, you will be queued into the mobile/tablet queue if you are playing on a mobile device, regardless of input.
As we state on our website, we plan to look into modifying the PBMM system to take input devices into account at some point in the future.
