I just came up with an amazing idea. Nothing that The Hive would have to implement but I just wanted to run it by to see if it would be allowed for me to make and publish.
I was thinking that I could make a client side plugin for the Latite client (legit client) that turns Bedwars into a rougelike. It would work by canceling packets sent by the player to purchase items or upgrades unless they have that item or upgrade unlocked. They can unlock items and upgrades by spending points at the start of each game which can be earned by doing certain things during the game such as getting kills, destroying beds, or winning to name a few.
This gamemode would be entirely client side and functions by preventing the users of the plugin to send certain packets requesting to buy certain items and upgrades so I would understand if this is seen as against the rules despite it being enabled by the user and can be disabled at any time. The user would be choosing to have those packets disabled and would fully understand the consequences of it. They would actively be put in a disadvantage by enabling it.
TLDR;
- Hive adds nothing and simply approves of my development of the project.
- Client-side plugin for the Latite client.
- Does not interfere with how other players in the lobby wish to play the game.
- Gives the user a disadvantage.
- Works by preventing the purchase of items and upgrades being sent by the client to the server.
- Earn points by doing certain actions in game.
- Latite is a legit client which means there is no cheats involved with it.
EDIT: I have made a spreadsheet with information on how the plugin would work along with the unlocks and points systems. Hive Rougelike - Google Sheets
