TL;DR: Fix the hive-art channel guidelines (have more leniency when posting art in the hive-art channel)
Hi!
As someone who does do 3D Modelling and from time to time pixel art, the hive-art channel is really useful for sharing art and getting feedback!
A lot of people may be asking „why’d you make this forum then?“ or „what’s the point of this forum?” and I’ll be clarifying on that now. The Moderation Team has had a lot of issues in the past week regarding players posting „hive-related“ artwork. Lots of artists have posted a lot of artwork in that channel before, including of pixel art and Minecraft-related art. As you may know, there are channel guidelines in the hive-art channel which are quite easy to understand and should be followed. In the past, pixel art, Minecraft skins, Blockbench models, etc have been allowed, but all of a sudden these rules are starting to get enforced more in that channel. It quite literally makes no sense considering that many other pieces of artwork have been shared in that channel with no issue.
It’s now gotten to the point where A LOT of people are frustrated with the channels guidelines and its leniency. When players wanted to express there concerns, the Moderation Team recommended emailing Player Support. When I emailed Player Support, the response I had gotten was to make a suggestion on the forums which has now led me here. My honest advice if you’d ask me? Allow pixel art and Minecraft-related artwork, because it makes no sense as to why you are not allowing it now but in the past now. (also there was NO update given whatsoever to these rules, and I know hive isn’t responsible for it but it would be a QoL update to make.) Or, you can simply just archive the channel as it’s constantly tiring for players to have to deal with these new rules. This way it saves time for the Moderation Team and the artists.
