Waiting at spawn to be killed can take two seconds or never happen for the entirety of a game, the amount of times the main seeker is AFK or doesn’t use a sword to kill you or runs away is insane. It would just save time and make the overall experience of the game more enjoyable.
For those that join seeker queue to just stand still and do nothing the whole game (or killing one hider who will also refuse to seek properly), this wouldn’t necessarily be a problem because it counts as “Prolonging the game”, which is against the rules.
It also improves people’s K/D statistics, yes, many people care about it in Hide and Seek of all games.
Most games have no seeker mains, so most of the time this doesn’t matter, if you want to increase your odds of winning a seeker queue, dodge a lobby a seeker main is in.
It would work like normal, where one seeker is randomly selected from the 15 players, except they’d be someone who’d volunteered for it.

A toggle for this is a great idea, I like that very much!
because one starting seeker is how it always has been, and if they wanna die noone can stop them but the starting seeker still gets the kills. If you want this to instead make everyone who queued seeker to start as seeker, that might be a separate post.
When hive gets around to updating hide, I hope they implement this in some way as well as block levels
We definitely need this. It’s beneficial for both hiders and seekers, too many games start with the seeker being afk, unable to get the first kills in a reasonable time, or simply not knowing what to do.
It’s not an interesting idea it’s a tried and true idea. The Hive implemented the seeker queue system on the Hive Java and it was in place for a number of years. Players letting the first seeker kill them so they can seek has been very common since 2014. People who want to seek will seek. The only way for a player who wants to seek to be prevented from doing so is if the first seeker is afk or refuses to kill anyone. The queue system makes it so people who wish to seek can do it more easily and consistently. It also helps people who want to hide by decreasing the amount of times they are chosen as the first seeker. Many hiders will just straight up leave the game if they are chosen as seeker just leading to someone else becoming seeker who might want to hide. It also doesn’t help that with the player count being 16 instead of 24, hiders who don’t want to seek have increased odds of becoming seeker.
So people who map memorize can take even more fun out of the game by queuing in as seekers straight away? Mm. Pass, until they update/change the maps or add more. It just wouldn’t be fair to the folks trying to play the game the right way, who don’t wanna run around or play Skywars the Hide and Seek edition.
If players want to seek a game but spawn in as a hider, they’ll let the starting seeker kill them immediately anyways. This suggestion doesn’t make the game more unfair at all. It’s a simple quality of life feature for those who prefer to seek.
God forbid the seeker having 5 extra seconds to seek, that would be so unfair. It’s not the wrong way to play, you either hide or you seek (it’s in the name)
