This feature is very simple. When gifting in hub, you can choose between two options.
I’ve seen this happen multiple times, where someone drops a gift and then 5 people chase the gift dropper spamming for them to be gifted. And yes, I know, there are some giveaways where people will tell you to follow them to drop, that’s why you can choose 
I never got a gift by anyone but i am trying my best to get it
If someone was dropping a gift, isn’t it kind the point that it’s public? If it was private they’d just gift it directly
I think what ceoricon means (correct me if I’m wrong) is that when a person drops a gift, sometimes they are chased/spammed to drop another or to gift directly to a player. By allowing an anonymous option, this could keep the hunt for the gift alive while keeping the gifter from being followed/spammed if that is an issue they run into. I’m a fan of this I can’t see a lot of people using it necessarily though… I feel as if some players enjoy these aspects of dropping gifts in the hub. It wouldn’t be a bad thing to include it for those who don’t though
