It’s been widely expressed by the more dedicated players (and player who have played Java Gravity) to make the spawn points going into next map the same for every player. Having different spawn points depending on your finishing placement of the previous map confuses players who are trying to Speedrun public games.
Please make this happen, it’s so easy and I don’t know how it was overlooked from a game design standpoint.
EDIT: For clarification, the first map should still have different spawn points. Only maps 2-5 share the same ones.
it wouldn’t have to be that way on the first round, everyone can still be in a circle around the drop point and on the glass
After the glass drops out though and players get to the bottom, by the time you get to round 2 you’re no longer at the exact same pace as someone else, so wouldn’t be scrunched up
You won’t be unless 13 other people finish in the portal at the exact same time. It’s rare you’ll be obscured by a lot of people at your spawnpoint. It wasn’t an issue in Java Gravity
Leaderboard grav player here, I absolutely agree with this. We are often in the same lobbies due to having such similar pace and always spawning in the same spot would be so nice, especially since I have player visibility off, so I wouldn’t see the other people spawning on the same block as me.
I thought I would add this since it is related. I would argue that it would be best for all spawnpoints to be within jumping distance of the hole into the map. Being further away from the drop just adds unnecessary time. Of course I’m saying this from a speedrunning perspective as well but I think this would make sense for spawnpoints in general.
I think you’d just run into problems with not being able to see as you’re falling down if multiple people pass through the checkpoint together. Yes, there is a toggle for smaller players or invisible players but they can also just get in your way at times, even if they are small, as you are falling
I think you are overestimating how many times people finish at the exact same time. Even if they do you are likely to go different paths anyway. And if you argue thats not the case, then in that case whats the point of having different spawnpoints in the first place if people just end up taking the same route? In my opinion, blocking each other’s view is not a valid counter argument.
