Equal rarity for block party and gravity max level hats

Archived Post (Changed)

Space Helmet should be changed from Rare to Epic. The disco hat from block party is Epic, and there is 3 different obtainable hats for it. Gravity on the other hand only has one hat, so why should it be the middle rarity and not the highest?

I know this might seem pretty useless, but maxing a game is a lot of work and if the hat was changed to Epic rarity then players might feel more accomplishment.

Original concept has been altered slightly, old version is above if anyone wants to comment on it

Gravity and Block Party are both arcade games with max level hats, but the rarity of each is not equal. I believe that the Block Party hat should be moved down a tier.

This change would also include moving down the other two Block Party hats down a tier. Possibly adding a new tier “Common”.

Reason 1: Hive’s new approach for the newer Arcade games (and possibly regular games too) is to implement a hat at the starting max level. This is great because it means that when they inevitably add 50, 75, 100 levels that they do not ever really need to make a max level cosmetic that isn’t that special. If the hive decides to add another hat for level 50 (this is very unsure, they might add two costumes like they did for Block Drop and SkyWars) then that can be at the very highest rarity (epic) before the costumes get implemented for the game at possibly level 75 and 100.

Reason 2: These games both require fairly similar amounts of grind time (much shorter than the regular hub games, but quite a lot of work nonetheless) making it seem unfair for one game’s level 25 cosmetic to be seen as inferior. Although the block party hat DOES have a special effect it is much smaller than Gravity’s hat - which goes over your entire face compared to just a small area above your head.

Changing this would lay the groundwork for a level 50 update when the time eventually comes.

Small Note: Unlike almost every other game the Gravity and Block Party NPCs only have one variant as far as I’m aware which means that they cannot make two max level costumes, (as they did for SkyWars, Block Drop and Murder Mystery) which means there might even be 3 max level hats, (or two plus a new hub cosmetic by then)

Rare is more suitable for the Space Helmet, considering it doesn’t have any animations and can be collected at any time. Reaching level 25 in Gravity isn’t that much of a deal, as it normally only requires a playtime of 10-15 hours. The Space Helmet is like Block Partys Dr Zuk’s Goggles (uncommon) and just a little harder to get.

Why is 25 in block party a bigger deal?

The Disco Ball hat is animated, making it more special. The Disco Ball and the Space Helmet are clearly not on the same level.

Also it would be better to keep the current unlocks at a lower rarity, in case they want to add more hats to the game with level updates. This is somewhat something they failed to do in Block Party already, as for example, if Hive was to increase the level limit to 50, they would have to make most if not all hats after level 25 either epic or legendary.

Epic/Legendary hats is more something you would except at higher levels in main games, such as SkyWars 50+, Treasure Wars / Murder Mystery 80+ or similar. Not in an arcade game that requires you to grind for ‘only’ 10-15 hours.

It would be much better if they lowered the rarity of pretty much every game hat, e.g. the goggles to common, the disco ball to rare and the space helmet to uncommon, as compared to other games, maxing those is currently not that hard.

Yeah I can see where you’re coming from, I guess then I want the block party hats to be moved down a tier each. However the current hats ARE the max cosmetic for the newer arcade games. Hats are less special than costumes (both price wise and size wise).

So I think this is a good change to make for (like you mentioned) arcade games with only 20-25 levels that do not take anywhere near as much grinding as MM, TW, SKY, etc.

Even though the disco ball has special effects, it is much smaller than the space helmet and the space helmet goes all over your face unlike the helmet too. The cardboard box does also go all around your face, but it’s supposed to be an uncommon hat with the idea of a box being ‘cheap’.

Final verdict for me: Move the disco hat and the space helmet to the same level, (at rare) and move all the other hats down a tier (or keep both the space goggles and crown at uncommon tier if it’s that much work making a new common tier)

I’ll edit the post now, thanks for your input @Lucagic
