I’ve found some resource packs that ruin the gameflow and makes it unfair to go against certain players who use them. I believe that everyone should be on a leveled playing field and no one should have to gain an unfair advantage over others.
I saw a pack that shows hit boxes, while I believe this is a feature in Java Edition, it is not in Bedrock. While it’s not exactly too big of a deal overall, I just see it as being a bit unfair.

Now this one is just outright unfair, I’m not sure if it works or not but it’s definitely a cheat. I can’t point fingers, but I can say that it basically makes Murder Mystery… not even a mystery!
(I apologize if this is fixed and I’m being ignorant, but I thought I would show this cheat.)
Detector Resource Pack: (Redacted)
Thanks for reading, I love the Hive server and I want to make this known because we all want a fair and fun experience. Cheaters just find ways to ruin the fun…
Edit: I think this is more serious than it looks from the surface, we have no clue how many there are out there public or private.
To help playercount please consider this if possible, it has made me not want to play recently.
Thanks, I really hope this gets attention because I believe there’s more going on then we realize…
I hate to sound like an insane conspiracy theorist, but I feel like if this is unchecked people will all being using these cheats.
I remember seeing a screenshot of someone using one of these packs, it makes me so sad that people can’t play legitimately. I believe this problem is really widespread.
I use this too and all my friends use clients which also contains player hitbox, but they didn’t cheat or gain an unfair advantage.
Actually some hitbox packs can be used.
Also how do you ban all these unfair packs? They can make a new one.
I’m not really sure how it would work, the only thing I can think of is disabling resource pack usage in certain minigames?
I won’t argue about if it’s cheating or not since we seem to have different views on the matter, but I believe that it can be seen as an advantage to have these resource packs. Remember there are certain platforms that don’t allow custom made resource packs, it’s just not fair.
It’s maybe not the best idea to link the packs here, as you pretty much encourage players to download it by doing so…
But I am not too sure about servers being able to disable certain packs, as they are client-sided. I don’t think they have accurate logs of packs players are using, which makes this impossible to implement.
Furthermore, Hitboxes are allowed, just not when it works through walls. Having to manually allow and deny every single Hitbox pack would be a nightmare and wouldn’t really be worth it, as people would always find a workaround by just using another pack that is similar.
I still see it as an advantage, and the fact certain platforms can’t use it just makes it not fair for everyone.
I can see it as making things easier, even if it’s not a significant difference.
Hitboxes are allowed, just not ones visible through walls. There’s not really a fix to the other pack though except doing what some realms do and “Force Resource Packs” which thousands of players in the community will instantly dislike.
