What is the bug?
When you send more than 2 invites at once in a custom server, you kicked with the text “something went wrong” this makes it very slow inviting a lot of people.

Can you provide some more information about how you are inviting players, and if possible, a video of the issue?
I have had problems with this as well. When I have many friends online, and I repeatedly click the “Invite All Friends” button, it sometimes kicks me with this same error.
I actually learned this from someone else, and I think it kicks you due to spamming, something that can be annoying. Doing it too much kicks you. This has never happened to me, but I imagine that’s what it kicks you for.
This is an anti-spam measure that happens when you send a lot of invites in quick succession. If you are being impacted by this, slow down a little when sending invites, and you should be fine!
