Explanation of Issue:
Without the “Sekunden” it sounds a bit odd since it’s just missing in there.

It is true that your suggested string would be a more complete sentence, but this is because the text has intentionally been shortened due to where it is placed. As there is a countdown, we believe that the unit of time is clearly implied.
