Cross-platform melee PvP control rebalancing suggestion

I think that it is pretty much established that PC players have a very distinct advantage in PvP over players from other platforms due to the differences in control interfaces. This can make it particularly annoying for a mobile/console player to fight a PC player. However, while that melee PvP heavily favours PC, I have found that bow and arrow PvP tends to be more even across platforms (although that PC players would still have superior mobility and a slight aiming advantage). I think that this may be due to how a bow attack needs to be held and aimed/fired by drag and release (at least on mobile), which makes things much easier as the main difficulty of melee PvP on mobile is to keep an opponent on your screen while you tap at them (a claw grip is required to do both at once, but most players dislike doing that. Even players of competitive FPS games find that grip to be annoying and uncomfortable). As such, I suggest adding a setting that can be toggled on and off, which would make melee attacks fire off automatically when the screen/attack button is held down with a melee weapon equipped (targeted at the centre of the screen), so that touchscreen-based players would be able to focus on keeping their target in their screen without having to also be frantically tapping (which results in frequent misses against an agile opponent, as unlike PC players the finger used to tap is also usually the finger in charge of looking around). Basically, an official togglable autoclicker that functions at a fair competitive rate of clicks per second (for example 4-5/second? Maybe higher, maybe lower, I have not bothered to look up average clicks per second in Minecraft PvP). This way, players on mobile/console would have a much easier time with melee PvP as they would be able to target track like a PC player does without having to worry about also spam clicking, while that PC players who do not wish to wake up their neighbours to the sound of them murdering their mouse would also be able to enjoy a steady rate of clicks just by holding down their left button. I think that the only people who would be upset about this would be tryhards who mastered the art of breaking their mouse button in record time (quite frankly I personally find the concept of “butterfly clicking” or whatever it is called to be completely absurd).

Ideally, this togglable option would be easily accessible even while in a match, so that it can be toggled off when needed to prevent it from messing with the block breaking function on a tool/weapon (i.e. cutting down cobwebs with a sword or chopping wood with an axe).

I Completly agree with u, i am a mobile player and pvp with pc players they have a much advantage. I sure vote

What an interesting concept. This would change the Hive PvP games for mobile players a LOT. And also for PC players too. It’s kind of a gray area, as the Hive has banned auto clicking. So they’d have to change that rule if they’re going to release an official auto clicker. Still a neat idea, tho not sure how viable it is for the Hive to make.

I am one of those people who likes to break their mice and I think saving my fingers a bit of work would be nice. And I suppose this would also make pvp more challenging, which also would be nice. :innocent:

That seems… really hard to implement, but idk, I’m not a dev.

Anyways, I believe that this is not the right path to go about that. The correct path would be to implement input device into match making, so touch players will have a much much much better time. Did I mention that they would have a much better time?
