That happens in the murder mystery quests when you go to collect coins they only count up to 30 per game so I think this should not have any limit.
The coin cap is there to prevent cheaters from getting a lot of exp in a round.
If your friend is the murderer, they could kill everyone except you, and then you could get a lot of coins, this would be extremely unfair.

Or to just not have the exp cap be the same as the quest cap
