Adding an item allowing good players to prevent fall damage would be a relatively small but good feature. The item could be water buckets, ladders, slime blocks, hay bails, or cobwebs. Fall damage can be a really annoying part of the game with only one way to counter it: feather falling boots, but these take away from the protection of the armor and don’t actually prevent that much fall damage; overall they just aren’t worth actually using. So instead of gold boots what if Hive added an item to stop fall damage. This would give an incentive to play more and require skill to do.
Water buckets: I think this is a pretty good option, and the water mlg is a very well-known and classic clutch, but water bucket mlgs are too easy, and it would be annoying if someone spammed water buckets all over the map.
Slime blocks: this is an interesting option; this would allow you to clutch on the sides of blocks and walls, but again this is probably too easy.
Cobwebs: This is a fairly easy clutch like the two above, but it also would be annoying if you’re chasing a runner who spams them.
Hay bails: I think this would be a good option because it’s pretty easy to do, but also you still take 10% of fall damage, which might be a good compromise if anyone is reluctant to add an item to completely remove fall damage.
This leads me to my favorite: ladders. Ladders would be very useful when climbing up towers and walls, and to clutch with them would actually require more skill than any of the other options. Ladders would also be great for clutching on the sides of base without taking fall damage. I don’t know about you, but I have hit a nice clutch on the edge only to die from fall damage, or be so low I wouldn’t be able to continue to fight and get their bed.
The price could be something like a diamond for one of these items. Does anyone have suggestions or favorites out of these items?

Well fun fact, now that Season 2 is added they bumped it up to FEATHER FALLING FIVE. That means most falls take very little damage. Also if you find this a problem, just have a slot for them in your inventory so you can switch them out.
I think Hive wants to be more fair towards all players so a skill based item or an item such as a water bucket which is harder on mobile wont be added most likely.

I don’t buy the feather falling boots ever so I didn’t even know they did increase the level, oops.
I see what you’re saying about not having more skill based items because of people on mobile, but I still think for the rest of us that would be a fun addition, and if you are a mobile player you can still clutch, it would just be a little bit harder to do.
Maybe I will just use the gold boots if feather falling five is on them.

This would make the map messy.
yes this would be so useful also because i do not buy the gold boots but the water should rather be added for like 10 gold so people can clutch with it or defend their bed from explosives but you do not keep the bucket so it is a one time use

Then buy the boots, it’s that simple.

As NotYoshi said, it’s literally so usefull for multiple reasons. It costs 4 emeralds, which is pretty easy to get, and essentialluy removed all fall damage. Just put it in your 9th slot or something, and replace it when you start a fight. That way, you are not gonna die.
This helps in late game and especially with runners who keep making you go up and down to try and equal the health, when you clutch and go up, or when you build up to sneak attack.
Why clutch when you can just fall boot
AND DON’T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE FALL BOOTS AND WIND CHARGE COMBOS

To OP for sweats (I’m a sweat but anyway) to OP
The whole point of the game is for the better player to win. Therefore your counterpoint is invalid.

I agree with you here it would make the map a lot messy
May I ask why you love reviving posts you don’t like resulting in an increased chance to have them added…?
Also now that you revived it I’ll vote
good job! Especially now that S3 removed them, more vanilla items would be nice.

I don’t want to be that guy, but it kinda clutters forums. If the topics become relevant again then state your opinion, but why bump it and let more people see it when you disagree?

Listen I’m not bumping it’s just that these ideas are just bad
Replying to a post bumps it which allows more people to see it. Also they are bad ideas. We just have different views.

Notyoshi did you go offline just to say that man
I personally think that ladders aren’t a bad idea. The upsides are that there is a way to counter towering players and a way to clutch. What compromises them is they are decently difficult to use. They are certainly more difficult to use than a dory or wings. I don’t like all these overpowered custom items. Bedwars needs more normal items. Items that are actually balanced and skill-based.
