Choose Whether or Not to Use a Login Streak Saver

Idea:

You should be able to choose whether or not you want to use a Login Streak Saver to save your login streak.

More information:

Imagine a situation like this: You had a long login streak in the past, so you have a few Savers (say, 5). Then you stop playing the Hive so much, and only join every few days. With 5 Savers being automatically used, you would immediately deplete your supply for a login streak of only a few days.

So for people with Login Streak Savers, they’ll either be forever obligated to keep their login streak so they don’t waste savers, or not play the Hive at all so they never have a login streak.

Of course this example might be a little bit exaggerated, but it’s a real possibility. I know I wouldn’t want to waste a saver on a 1-day login streak.

So I suggest that whenever a player misses a day in their login streak (and they have an available Login Streak Saver), a menu pops up that says:

Oops! You missed a day in your login streak! Would you like to spend a Login Streak Saver to restore it?
Current Login Streak: 123
Login Streak Saver Balance: 2

[ Yes, save my login streak. ]
[ No, set my login streak to 0. ]

I think this would take a lot of pressure off of small login streaks for those who have had large ones in the past.

Wait are login streak savers a thing? If so, doesn’t that defeat the purpose of a login streak?

Bumping this because it’s an important issue to me. I don’t really have much else to add, except that another downside is that in its current state, it’s hard to intentionally lose your login streak at a nice number, like 365 or 500, if you don’t want to keep it anymore.

Yes, this would be useful. Some people may want to purposely lose the streak but save the streak savers.

Perhaps when a player would next lig on after missing a period of time, they would get a message asking them if they wish to use a saver or lose the streak.
