its so portal skipping is easier bc this map is almost impossible to do it on. if this is changed the world record could be improved substantially

No game should ever make anything easier for speed runners, especially ones made for kids. You already said itā€™s possible, so why make it easier? Speed running would not be fun if everyone can do it, it should be a skill that people can learn.

Not how that works, itā€™d make it easy for worse players, not for the world record.

Once again, games should never make speed running easier!!! Theyā€™ve already made a change to gravity because of it, it was ruining others experience of the game. The change of when the end timer starts, from when the first person finishes to the first 3 people finishes.

everyone in the grav community wants it to be taller. The portal skip is ridiculously hard to do and needs to be changed. Only 5 people have hit data ps in a run

portal skipping is getting really close to the portal so you can go through before you hit the ground, its a pretty decent time skip. one of the easiest maps to do this on is prolly stairs, though I havent tried it myself

anyways while this would be nice for serious speedrunners, I dont see much reason to add it. it only affects an awfully small group and just makes smth easier; imo changes like this should be making things possible or impossible, with a few exceptions like buffing parkour etc

especially when you look at the speedrunning for a game like botw which I used to be really into and I got a record in, you can see that the rng and difficulty is what makes these runs special. the entire point of speedrunning is to find the fastest possible way to beat a game from the features the developers gave you, and changing something just to make speedruns easier is practically unheard of for a reason: it ruins the magic of beating a game with the things youā€™re given.
