Often when killing a player, all of their loot drops (unless you knock them off). This can be annoying because their inventory can be full of spare tools, items, etc. that you either already have or don’t want. This leads to a long time spent either throwing items off the map, throwing them into fire, or putting them in a chest for others to find just to make space for things like spellbooks, golden apples, knockback Nemo, and other things that would be far more useful than a diamond shovel or iron axe. (Edit: This was written before today’s patch removing “useless” tools) It’s hard to avoid picking these items up, since they all drop in a small area and the pickup range almost always guarantees you pick up an inventory full. To remedy this, I’m thinking there is either:
- No item drop on death at all: you would need to get all of your own stuff from ores and chests.
- A sort of grave/chest where you can select certain items that you may find useful or none at all.
Personally, I prefer the grave/chest idea, since it also adds some strategy - this player had a fire aspect sword, but you already have one. Should you take it and lose inventory space or leave it for someone else to potentially find and use against you?
Either way, I believe that the current method adds a lot of “throwing away time,” especially for mobile and console players. Otherwise, I’m loving SkyWars so far, so keep up the great work!
