So, I feel like the VIP rank is currently underused. The only person I know of with VIP rank is @Fowben. (He might not even have it anymore, I’m not sure if his DEV rank was permanent or not…) I feel like we need to give it a larger use. So, my suggestion is to give it to well-known community members who have contributed amazing things to the community.

My only problem with this is, how many well-known Hive influencers do you know who aren’t YouTubers or streamers? Like I honestly doubt that this rank would be used very often with its current “requirements.”
A few people I think would deserve VIP rank if this suggestion were to ever be accepted would be @SnowflakeTM for their XP charts and newsletters, and @ariannasv22 for the Hive hoodie.
Alright, I appreciate the suggestion, but I’m not sure if I really qualify as an “influencer”. The hoodie was a big hit for sure, and the post itself did gain some attention from at least one of the administrators, but I feel like an “influencer” would have to contribute a little more than just one or two good posts. I personally feel an influencer should have, well, influenced a decent chunk of the playerbase, and I feel I don’t really fulfill that standard. Snow would maybe deserve the vip role, since he’s been around longer, but I am not completely sure since I’m not fully aware of everything he’s done. I don’t know, that’s just how I feel about it. I’m guessing the staff are still deciding the exact requirements for vip role, and we might receive more updates about it in the future.
There’s a contributor role already, although it’s just a java rank. As far as I know it’s given to ex staff and people who have contributed a lot to hive. Don’t ask me what that means lol
I don’t really like the VIP rank in general, because of the vague requirements, and how random it feels. It just doesn’t seem like a necessary thing, especially considering basically no one has it
We have no plans to change the VIP rank as it exists for a reason.
Much like on Java, the VIP rank is for influencers that aren’t necessarily partners, as well as personal friends, we reserve the right to give it to whomever we choose.
