Any player that has looked at the Bedwars Season two challenge board has likely noticed two things:
-
The challenges are mostly achievable within a few hours of focus on that specific challenge
-
One challenge stands out: The Fully Loaded Challenge (Upgrade Generators 1000 times)
This challenge stands out because of the daunting task of upgrading a generator 1000 times. For most skilled players, this challenge will simply be skipped, or completed after months of play, because none of us want to change our entire playstyle for a single challenge. As it is only possible to upgrade a generator 4 times per game, this challenge requires a MINIMUM of 250 games played, which is not that much. To players who prefer to rush, this challenge is near impossible, as most people who prefer that strategy upgrade their generator once, or possibly twice.
Another reason this challenge needs to be changed (I will list possible solutions down below) is because of the new game: Manor LTM. This game has 4 teams of 5 players, and there is a high chance that one of the other 4 players on your team will upgrade the gens before you can, making this challenge even more difficult.
As an example, I have played 125 games of bedwars (post-season 2) and upgraded generators exactly 75 times (post-season 2). This means that if I wanted to complete this challenge, I would need to play 2000 games of bedwars.
It seems as if the Hive is anti-grinding and anti-rush strategy now days, and is focusing on prolonging games (an example is the change to squads maps, making them less rush-friendly, or the changes to Manor adding an immediate deepslate defense) This is not what the community wants! Bedwars is a fun game, more so when it is faster paced. Upgrading generators 1000 times is a challenge that requires countless hours of play, and a lot of time sitting on generators, which is not fun. The whole fun part of bedwars is rushing and fighting other players, not wasting away on a generator.
Some solutions could be lowering the challenge goal to 750 or even 500 upgrades, or removing the challenge all together. As someone who is aiming to complete all challenges, even a change/boost to the completion reward would be greatly appreciated.
