Just a few ideas, for before and also after the nether update.
BEFORE:
-
Make iron armor cheaper.
REASONS: Iron armor is almost entirely skipped because 32 diamonds for something below diamond armor (which is easier to get btw) is absolutely ridiculous. Bring it down to something like 15 diamonds. -
Make diamond gear as a whole a bit weaker.
REASONS: As I am sure you all are aware, diamond armor is absurdly strong even compared to iron (on the rare occasion you even get iron). Maybe make it so you only get like a diamond chestplate and diamond legs for 20 emeralds, and a diamond helmet + boots would be unobtainable. After the nether update this would need to be changed again, but I’ll get to that. -
Add other pvp items.
REASONS: Treasure Wars is a strategy oriented pvp game. Why shouldn’t it have all the strategy oriented items like crossbows, cobwebs, shields, fishing rods, and golden apples? You could also use this as an opportunity to make diamonds overall more valuable by making a couple of these items (cobwebs and crossbows) bought with a few diamonds. Shields could be bought for like 20 gold. Fishing Rods could be bought for maybe 5 gold. Golden apples could be bought for maybe 2 emeralds each. -
Add shears
REASONS: Past a certain point, wool is a more effective defense because of no matter what item you use in the current game, it will break at the same speed unlike stone/endstone/wood/etc. Shears would also make breaking bridges a more valid strategy. -
Make it so you can’t build on top of player spawn points.
REASONS: The strategy where you trap spawnpoints in solid blocks is almost as effective as the intended way of winning the game (breaking the treasure) and needs a fix. Sure it doesn’t woodpecker anymore, but it is still a broken move. -
Nerf the “wifi team-chest” strategy.
REASONS: “Wife team chest” is the act of, when only 2 teams are alive (particularly in solos), one person breaks the other one’s treasure, puts away their stuff in the team chest, and jumps off the edge to beat the other person to their treasure. Simply put, its a super dirty move, but I’m not entirely sure how to fix it. Maybe make it so you can only use the ender chest in your base? This would also add an emphasis on being prepared for crisis instead of the current strat of “I’LL HAVE ALL MY GOOD STUFF ON ME CUZ WITH MY DIAMOND GEAR I AM UNBEATABLE HURHURHUR.” -
Make treasures unbreakable for the first minute of the game.
REASONS: The current meta (which is RUSH BEFORE THEY CAN DO ANYTHING) is basically saying PLAY THE GAME AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE. How about we actually focus on playing? This would also slow down hackers a bit.
POST NETHER UPDATE:
- Bring back the full diamond set, but make it bought with 25 diamonds.
REASONS: We will need something to stand up to netherite. And once again, diamonds need some love. They are almost entirely useless in the games current state (everything diamonds can do outside of the bow, gold can do just as effectively, and emeralds are a quicker and more effective option for armor).
And for the one you all were waiting for…
- NETHERITE GEAR
DETAILS: Make the netherite armor cost maybe 28 emeralds. It would be hard to get but not impossible, while also being, you know, worth getting. Netherite sword could reasonably cost 10 emeralds. Netherite tools could be avoided unless obsidian gets added.
