seems the screenshots taken out of context, then.
You can’t just tell a server known for its events to not do events

Maybe, it was just said badly… and the guy was specifically talking about the mm stuff and I think a suggestion requesting an event like this to never happen again is a reasonable suggestion (that I would vote for)
It’s kinda like saying “don’t bother suggestion for bridge to get public API, because we get to decide if it does or not” and it got added after much request
This was the context of the image I sent, but it was probably misunderstood as the conversation continued. The message right above what Mason showed would show it was the context, just not clear and misunderstood.
It absolutely sucks that this one map has been advertised heavily, and more than half the lobby votes for it!
I suppose it is just a game at the end of the day, and is still MM…
Agree that the advertisement for the Backrooms map is not reasonable, “New Maps or Map Update” could be better in my opinion.
But I really like the idea that murder now has its own little twist, it’s like a whole story build around it and I’m a big fan of that.
I think that was not the end of the mysterious things happening on hive. There surely is more to come.
Apparently the mm hunt thing is gonna be permanent so this changes should probably considered or the voting could be affected for a while
the only change I need is nerf either lights or the invis from cupcakes, as right now the murderer has 2 very hard-to-deal-with ways of “disappearing” and one is already more than enough. Personally I think the flashlight should be a beam and not a blob around the player (like how a real flashlight works), and that would make the map a lot more balanced. As it is right now the backrooms map is the only map where in a 1v1 situation with near-perfect play the odds are in the murderer’s favor (lights and cupcakes are SO anti-camp (its wonderful)). The map will continue to get chosen, so imo the best thing to do is make it more fair.
What if the flashlight let you see invis players, making it more useful than just activating fullbright.
As someone who has done the hunt, it was very annoying to get the code, I could see countless people typing in chat “Please not backrooms” and then backrooms would be voted with 20 votes, it is a major problem. Voted!
they recently changed lights from 15 seconds to 10 seconds (I think thats the right timing, ik they reduced the time the lights are off but I never tested either before or after), and that is a very good first step in the right direction! I still think that the flashlight should shine in a beam not a bubble though.
deathrun had the exact same problem years ago when they “pinned” toys to the top of every vote when it first came out so every game was just toys
interesting that they’ve done it again and on a much larger scale
do definitely agree tho, +1 vote
Yep this is the thing I’m referring to when they say they are against promoting specific maps
I’m gonna bump this since the Backrooms is slowly gaining less votes.
Personally, yes, both puzzles are hard even after YouTube videos. But after grinding for 3.5+ hours to do them both, I can safely say by typing “/q murder”, you will easily be able to find a lobby without the Backrooms listed.
Plus, the more time that goes on, the less people will vote for it, like you mentioned. Separately, the Backrooms is just my favorite map because of the lore and secrets and how it plays. It’s like a new version of Office, and it’s genuinely fun to be the murderer on that map
