Apply Time Zones to Login Streak

y e s. We need this. I lost my 550 day streak because I forgot how the streak saver mechanic works. I used one, logged on, but thought I could use it again but you can’t have another saver activate if you didn’t make the first one last enough. and I logged in at 6:01 PM in my time zone ;(

I vote :ballot_box:

definitely just millions lol

Moving back on topic, how would Hive know what time it is for you? They have their own internal clocks, but they’d have to take your device’s time somehow.
And what if you move into another time zone before midnight after you lose your streak after midnight? Would it count as another day and continue the streak?

I wonder if they implemented this and then suddenly the server thinks you time traveled to the past or you go on vacation and accidentally are one day in the future and lost a saver

You would input the time zone yourself from a list of time zones that are only in the region you’re playing in. I could modify it so that it changes once the day in the first time zone ends so it’s not abused.

I quote a quote lol

It resets at 0:00 UTC, for me it’s 8:00 am and I have nothing to worry about because I usually get up earlier

and to prevent abuse you could make it that you can’t change your time zone while you have a steak. This can apply to quest limit

We have considered this, but when you introduce time zones, things get very complicated very quickly.

Whilst I understand that there can sometimes be confusion when it comes to daylight savings, there would likely be a lot more confusion if we were to allow players to set their time zones themselves.

Right now, we feel that having login streaks determined by a single timezone (UTC) is the easiest and least confusing solution.

thank you, that makes sense to me and I can see where youre coming from.

however, I do feel like it wouldnt be too difficult to code or use, as the team is entirely capable of storing large amounts of data game statistics and creating menus and if it were an item or even just a command, players wouldnt have to use it so it could stay at the default of utc.

maybe it could just differ according to region most played in at the time?

regardless, thanks for explaining!

I mean one time zone for each region, either the most populated or central zone of the region. north america technically has 7 time zones

Im on holiday in central america and am so close to 365!! The cutoff time for me right now is 6pm which is a bit difficult. my friend that came with me said they just wanted to enjoy and i dont think they care but they just might have 3 streak savers cus we are staying for just over 2 weeks. I really dont want to lose it cus im at around 335!

Streak Savers only last for 6 days, and you have to join on the 7th day. I just wanted to make you aware so you don’t think you can use 2 streak savers in a row and lose it D:
