This would be a new rank that all members can apply to be.
The name itself is pretty self-explanatory, people with this rank would be able to test systems like the anti-cheat, games and other systems, unlike the other roles, the alpha testers does not have any moderation powers.
This rank would be pretty useful as the developers can make a private server that only staff members can acess.
There are already people who test the games, the job is called QA Tester.
QA tester still gets the perks of Hive team iirc(ie. A paycheck), this sounds like a volunteer position that only gets the perk of testing. A better name for the role in the suggestion would probably be beta tester, as alpha tests are typically more private, similar to what the QA testers do. Betas are more open, sometimes to just important people in the community, or in some cases completely public.
Anyways they do the closed beta step with helpers(I think, idk, mods def beta test, or they did in the past. Ik helpers got a whopping 5 minutes of early access to sw) so whatever.
