Allow us to toggle Platform-based Matchmaking

Idea:

On all games except Bridge Solo use platform-based matchmaking. I think this is great. It allows PC players to fight PC players, and mobile players to play with other mobile players. One issue: you can’t turn it off.

I play on a Linux Device (Steam Deck). In order to play Minecraft Bedrock, I need to install a 3rd-party launcher. This launcher emulates android to play Minecraft, not windows. So every server I join thinks I’m on an Android device, other than a few servers like Zeqa that categorized Linux.

I use a keyboard & mouse to play the Hive, and would like to fight other keyboard players. But it seems to mostly always queue me with a bunch of mobile players, instead of keyboard players. No hate to mobile players, but them fighting a PC player seems a bit unfair to them, and boring to me

My suggestion is that there is a way to easily toggle on or off platform-based matchmaking, therefore mobile players can have it on, and Linux players like us can disable it if we need to.

More information:

Yes I know you’re saying “why u play linux get windows nerd”. I can’t get windows, i’m on a steam deck, designed to use linux.

U can try playing in a party whereby theres only pc players in it

ok I like linux personally but the fact that you cant get minecraft on linux easily is bc theres no direct support for it, and therefore theres no real reason to pay much attention to mc on linux. this I think is the only example of odd platform classification so imo theres no reason to worry about it
besides you can just go in a party with a windows player if it matters that much to you
