Adding Reactions in Hive-Chat and Hive-Plus

Adding Reactions in Hive-Chat and Hive-Plus in the Discord.

I think adding reactions in those chats will make it more fun to react to a message other than send the whole emoji.

I think they used to have reactions but people reacted with inappropriate emotes, so they removed them. I wasn’t around back then so if they never existed I am sorry.

In Discord they can add the server only emoji feature

Even with the server only emoji feature, people can still use the regional indicator emojis (like this → :a:) to write inappropiate things on reactions.

Like most people are saying, this would not be added since people can use inappropriate emotes from other servers to react.

It’s very easy to add functionality to add to a bot that removes any reaction they want.

Hey there

Like what other people said, we unfortunately have no plans on adding reactions back. Many people would use inappropriate emotes, which is not allowed on our server. They would also add a ton of reactions which could come off as a bit spammy, and it’s not easy to delete them.
Even if we didabled the use of emotes from other servers, people can still find ways to make inappropriate messages. (Like WinnerOnXBOX said).

Overall its just really hard for us staff to moderate and deal with them, so we had to remove them.

Have a great day/night :slightly_smiling_face:

Hey!! I did that!! Barely got caught since I would remove my reaction after someone reacts as well, so it seems like they were doing it, not me. So yeah, hard to moderate since its easy to remove your reaction before a moderator can see who is doing it.
I would want reactions in help me, so i dont have to send a message saying thank you. (I hate not thanking them)

A helper/mod/admin would usually put some sort of heart or love type reaction you can click to show thanks.

I only see that when you say thanks or something like that.

Example

They should react to their own reply so it doesn’t fill the chats with thanks, and allows us to show our appreciation still.
Oh, just realized this is off topic, so um

Anyone know how well that works? Does it work like the chat filter?

This would take an external bot (not automod) although its not exactly difficult to program. A custom bot would likely be a good solution here
