Add support for versions 1.16 - ~ if u can. people lag on newer versions, so id recommend adding support for 1.16 again 
It’s time to move on…
Supporting older versions doesn’t allow them to do much, so future updates and games wouldn’t be good. Also I’m pretty sure they can’t add any older versions since they probably have used some features from a newer version.
Just give renderdragon some time to get more polished and stuff along those lines.

I am pretty sure they are dropping support for 1.18 soon as well, but I could be mistaken.

If Hive drops support for an older version then they aren’t supporting that version ever and its not up to debate as they said.
Its not completely Hive’s decision since Microsoft also has something to do with that.
