Idea:
Add Extra Lives to Normal DeathRun Games

Information:
At the start of the game, everyone starts with 2 extra lives. If you die, you lose a life. If you lose all of them, you no longer have an extra lives and must not die one more time or you’re out. You can get extra lives by making it passed the checkpoints. Each checkpoint gives you 1 extra life. If you want to make it more interesting/intense, then the max amount of extra lives is 2 and if you still have two you don’t get an extra life.

Edit: I want it not just in custom servers, but in the public sessions.

I want it to also be in a normal session of the game not just in a custom server. I’ll edit the post now that I’m informed about this.

I like the idea of this, but it shouldn’t be added to regular matches. Why? Well, many players are playing for fun and this will make the game more competitive, meaning less fun for those players. Although the idea of a different mode of deathrun having this would be very nice to the competitive players of deathrun, I don’t see them adding a competitive mode for any game anytime soon.

I seemed to have seen similar suggestion before…but I forgot where.
I like this mode too. When I first knew death run on Java version it was played like this. I don’t know why they changed the rule then.
But it might be a bit hard for some new players to finish the map if it is in normal session.

I believe this would work good as a ‘DeathRun Extreme’ game version which you can only play when you are level 20+ in DeathRun. Adding lives to the default version would not work as many players die 10+ times and I assume that is also the average death count, if not even higher.

Maybe the extreme version could also have some harder maps, because maps like Zoo are pretty much free and you do not die there often (some Java maps for example were actually challenging). To make grinding it worth it, maybe you earn 50 % more experience in the extreme version compared to regular DeathRun? :man_shrugging:
