Gonna disagree because it’ll turn into skywars at that point with people pillaring up or boxing themselves in, which encourages more running behaviour.

As a player with over 6k games played and on the all-time leaderboard, SG needs new gameplay mechanics in terms of new items and/or functionality. Blocks would make it way too similar to skywars, and would give less reason to play it.
Again, how will this help SG?

This could be awesome for building traps, running away from stacked players, and also building towers and sniping from the top.
This is a fantastic idea! This could really be awesome for the game. I can think of so many uses for blocks, maybe disable them in deathmatch but other then that sure!!

The whole point of SG is to fight, towering and traps would completely neglect this. Not to mention how annoying it would be if someone did this.

I think this would be cool if there was traps.
When you read the hunger games (or watched) did you see katniss pillaring up with blocks up to the sky? No? Wellmaybe it shouldnt be in sg either

What traps can you do with like dirt, dirt, and dirt 
But also, all the SG maps would look really bad after a sweat shows up.
