add a new gamemode on the hive, add a gamemode survival, earth, life steal etc. a survival gamemode
I dont think that this is the style the hive wants to go.
Some of these might have been suggested in the past.
Hive is a minigame server : ) Not a survival/SMP server

1: hive is a mini game server, so survival mode doesn’t really fit into the hives style
2: if you want to play survival, just go play on a normal survival world instead
Yes, as everyone said above, The Hive is a mini games server.
But they technically already have it. Survival games!

If you love survival so much then just go to lifeboat and play on there
That server has your survival and creative gamemodes this server is meant for only minigames

If you’re into survival servers, then The Hive isn’t the server for you. Most of the players that play Hive aren’t really interested into survival gamemodes, probably more PVP. There’s tons of other survival servers. 
Unless you’re a console user, you can play servers other than featured servers.
Or you could play LifeBoat like Mason said (I don’t play LifeBoat, so I don’t know what gamemodes there is on it).
