Short post, I know, but the idea isn’t really thay on depth.
It would be great to have the ability to change the avatar border depending on your rank. For example, the Ultimate rank should be able to have their purple border on their avatar, the Hive + rank should have a green border, etc.
Nothing much to it, but the idea is pretty cool. More customisation would be good, even if you have to have a rank to obtain it.

Wow I never even thought about this being a thing yet it seems so perfect!
I like the idea, but I don’t think this is really feasible.
Given that every avatar is a separate image in the files, that would be at least trippling the amount of images, adding 3 of every avatar (which would be a lot of work for the art team).
Also I’m not sure if this effects much, but that would also be trippling the amount of storage the avatars take up. I’m not sure effects anything though.
Unless hive finds an automatic way of creating those images, I don’t think this is very possible.
True… they did do it for the Ultimate rank, so naturally I thought it would be easy to do.

They made an avatar of the Crystal Cubee called the Amethyst Cubee where the border is a purple colour. You can look it up and see it’s beauty.
Not exactly how it works, thats part of the avatar, not separate. So what greenpuffin was saying is that every avatar in the game has the border in the same image, it’s not an overlap, they’re one. I don’t know how accurate that is, but I’m sure it is, as they probably would’ve added selectable borders a long time ago.

Maybe they could just overlap the border and the image? Or remove all the borders and show an image and the custom border. Its for sure possible, just might take a while for the amount of avatars there are.
Also ultimate users should be able to select the green border as well, you didn’t explictly state that in the post so I want to mention that.
It’s more than three bc hive, mod, helper, and all of the temp ranks like diamond gold and emerald. However, the hive could just splice the avatars and have a bot that merges the image with the corresponding frame
