A Brand New PvP Gamemode!

Trials of The Hive:

Everyone really wants a new competitive PvP gamemode, but if the Hive makes a basic duels mode I don’t think people will like it as much. The Hive needs something unique, that’s why I’ve come up with the idea for a new gamemode I called Trials of The Hive (based off of Destiny 2’s Trials of Osiris)

Rules:

It’s a 3v3 gamemode that relies on skill, coordination and strategy to win.

Each teammate will have 3 lives, as well as a balanced arsenal consisting of full diamond armor, a diamond sword, a bow with 8 arrows, 64 concrete blocks and 5 golden apples. You have to use your arrows and golden apples wisely, if you use all of them in one round they’ll be gone for good.

The first team to extinguish the other team’s lives first will win the round. The first team to reach 3 wins will be declared the winner.

There should also be a level requirement before people enter, so that way cheaters and less experienced players aren’t allowed into this gamemode. I suggest level 25 for TW, 15 for SW and 10 for SG.

The goal of Trials in Destiny 2 is to get a win streak of 7 in order to go to the lighthouse. This number can change depending on what you guys think is appropriate but for now I’ll stick with 7 for my examples. This should be the goal for players to reach in order to obtain very special rewards

Map Layout (My suggestion):

There should be two islands where the players spawn in that funnel into the giant mid island/arena. There should be different platforms, environmental hazards such as pits, and forms of cover.

Rewards:

In order to keep players interested in this gamemode, it should give rewards to those who’re worthy enough to overcome its challenges. These rewards can be:

3 Wins - 1 hour XP booster and/or a free costume

5 Wins - 24 hour XP booster and/or a free costume and 1 free hub title

7 Wins - A trip to a special hub space (kinda similar to Destiny 2’s lighthouse system) where you can reap rewards

The 7 wins rewards should guarantee 1 costume, 1 XP booster and one new rank called flawless rank, which will make a player’s name glow and flash a golden yellow in the hub and other minigame hub spaces. But this rank won’t last forever, and if you don’t go flawless the week afterwards the rank will go away. It’ll keep players interested in the gamemode and will ensure they keep coming back every week.

Conclusion:

It doesn’t have to be exactly like this, or even like this in the slightest, but a new PvP gamemode that’s new and interesting would be so amazing. This server has amazing potential and I’d love to see it actually used to create something special. This probably won’t get seen but if it does I hope you guys consider my suggestion.

I like this idea! I like the idea of how it’s based more on skill than luck. (In skywars, I usually get the worst luck with loot and have to clutch most wins.) I also like the fact that you need to have a certain level to play.

This would also encourage players to play more, to level up TW, SW, and SG, to unlock the new mode.

It would also decrease the hacker count in that mode. Autoclickers are an exception though.

Almost forgot, welcome to the forums! Enjoy your time here!

I like this idea it’s great and very original(I think)!

welcome to the forums! :DDD
i only have one question

what titles avatars and avatars would u get from this?

I think this is well designed but there are somethings which need to change or be altered.

First of level requirements; Think they might be a possibility as it is designed to be competitive but they should add an alternative where there is no level restrictment so all players can try it out.

Secondly the rewards are to easy to get and don’t follow the way any of the other Hive games are designed. As the other gain a Costume (of the NPC) and hubtitle after maxing the game mode.
Though having things earned at different levels like cosmetics might happen as long as the players have the same gear and supplies.

-but having something to keep people interested is key

I was wondering how long will a game last if as a game might take a while.

Each match would be up to the players participating, since it’d go on a round by round basis. So if it was a steamroll probably not too long but if the teams are balanced then quite awhile.

And the rewards wouldn’t be too easy to get, since you’ll be going up against people trying extremely hard to win. This isn’t a casual match of TW or SW, this is a pure sweat fest lol. Think of it as scrims on steroids. Idk what the ACTUAL rewards would be tho, they’re just my personal suggestions but Hive could probably come up with something much better

Cool, I would enjoy a gamemode like this

Very nice idea! The only issue I see is that 8 arrows is just too little. Also maybe more wins are required for the prizes, since 3 wins seems a bit too easy

yes im so bored of playing tw sg and sw im max on all them and it just gets boring and i dont really like mm and hide having a new pvp gm will make the game way more fun

i dont think there would be many people who have all these levels in the pvp games, so in that case, there probably wouldnt be pbmm much in this game. You would probably get extreme sweats going against mobiles, so I wouldn’t say it would be harder than scrims. There’s also people who have high levels, but aren’t skilled at all.

I like the gamemode great idea
