XP from teammates destroying treasure?

I’ve noticed that I’ve been leveling up and gaining XP when teammates destroy opponents treasure, and I honestly didn’t know this. Does this actually happen or am I just tripp’n?

Yes if you play squads/megas and you have sweaty temates then you can get a lot of xp
