I like this idea, but like other people said I think this should be able to be toggled because newer players may get confused.

So you can decide if you want Gamertag(rank)
Or gamertag(icon)

We don’t do this for accessibility reasons. If you add a glyph (image) in a line of chat text, the client will render the line in the Minecraft font, even if you have another font selected. This can make it hard to read for users that prefer to use the other fonts. It also affects the on-screen text reader for those who have impaired vision.

If this behavior ever changes, we’ll be sure to implement something like this.
