Similar to how some video games have anti-piracy features that attempt to annoy the pirate for not purchasing the game legally, I felt like this could be done with those who cheat (in any of the minigames). The idea is to screw with the hackers/rule-breakers by cheating back at them so they either decide to play fairly, or quit entirely (which means one less rule breaker to deal with).
Some of these can include randomly teleporting the player into the void (between 5 to 60 seconds at random).
Turn bow-spammers’ bows into something completely useless like chicken spawn eggs.
Give the player a permanent nausea effect.
Draining their hunger to 3 full bars so they can’t sprint.
Etc.
Of course, some of these couldn’t easily occur in Treasure Wars (besides Megas) without giving unfair advantages to those who are playing fairly.
It goes as this quote I made up says:
“If you don’t feel like playing by the rules, neither will the game. Earn your fun the right way, not the cheap way.”
This idea would be very fun, but cheaters that ruin the game should also be punished, because if not, they will restart hacking and ruin other players games again.
I think this would be a little intensive on the server: having to teleport and give effects, I think a ban is enough.

Indeed, bans are enough, not negative effects or abilities, would be too intense for the mini-games if that actually came true

Yea probably baning is enough(i agree with these guys), but it sure would be fun to troll a hacker.

@BlueSlimeMC effects/teleporting for a very small number of players would not be too intense for the server, as they require very little calculation. In fact, hacked clients would most likely be able to cause more lag than the proposed punishment system, so I’d advise doing a bit more research before posting. On the other hand, the punishment system could be cool, but the hive’s anticheat isn’t perfect, and players are not able to be auto banned for that reason. That would leave it up to the staff to choose who gets punished, and that would take up a considerable amount of time instead of simply banning the player and moving on to the next report. Not only that, but players could develop hacks to counteract these measures, just like how they have made their hacks in such a way that they bypass certain anticheat features.

That’s a fair point but I mean is it necessary, it isn’t, it won’t help anyone, the hacker is not gonna cry or something…

Yeah I totally agree with you, I don’t really think that this system would be necessary.

The biggest problem with this idea is that to mess around with hackers, you have to know they’re hacking. After you know they’re hacking, why not just punish them off the bat?
