Introducing Sled Race

  • Since Ground Wars has become an full fledged non-LTM game mode it has effectively replaced Snow wars, leaving Winter without an LTM, and Halloween feels way more like an event than the Holiday season has, and I believe this LTM can fix that.

Basics

  • This game is simple in premise you race on sleds (8 or 12 players in total).

  • There will be Presents that give you items when ran into.

  • 3 Laps

  • 10 Checkpoints (Where you respawn)

  • Maps are small in size

  • 10 Minute Game Length

Presents (Items)

  • Santa Hat: Turns you into Santa and Makes you float for 15 seconds making you opponents unable to attack you

  • Driedal: spins around wherever you placed kind of hard to avoid and when you land on it, it stuns you.

  • Ice Cubes can be thrown and homes into player in front of you (Stuns player hit by it for a little bit)

  • Teddy Bear: An object you can throw on the ground that when a player accidentally runs into it Stuns them.

  • Ornament Bombs: Explosive but you have to be precise when hitting

  • Red Nose: Temporarily gives your reindeers a red nose making you go faster

  • Gingerbread Wall: makes a 2 by 2 wall (can be used to slow opponents when used right)

  • Fake Present: a normal looking present that when you get too close appears upside down and stuns you when ran into.

  • Christmas Cookie Shurikens: Christmas cookies usable three times and after that item disappears) that will shoot directly in front of you and stun whoever gets hit.

  • Magic Ham: A giant Plate of Ham with wings that will home in to whoever is in first place and Crush them for 5 seconds

  • In addition ornament bombs with blindness. credit for idea below

Balancing

  • Match ends 1 minute after the first player finishes the race

  • 5 XP per present (suggested by @Blockbyblock98)

  • 50 XP for getting first

  • 35 XP for getting second

  • 30 XP for getting third

  • 25 XP for getting top five

  • 15 XP for completing the entire course

  • Depending on how good the item is the more harder/impossible it becomes to obtain.

  • The higher your placement the less rare items.

  • Can only hold one item at a time.

Objects/Obstacles

  • Ice: Speeds Your Sled Up

  • Presents: Gives you your Items

  • Water: Avoid falling into or you will be brought to the checkpoint you were at last.

  • Rocks: Run into this and you get stunned for 3 seconds

  • Muddy Snow: Slows your speed and kills your momentum when sled on.

*Icicles: Certain areas will have these fall down so be careful where you guide your sleigh!

Potential Unlockables

  • Present Colors/Patterns

  • Reindeer Skins

  • Sled Skins

  • Hub Title: Now this is Sled Racing

  • Hat: Beanie (multiple color variants)

  • Costume: Reindeer with Goggles and a winter coat.

  • Backbling: Santa’s Pouch

Yeah since Snow Wars became Ground Wars there should be another LTM for winterfest.

Oh for sure I honestly would’ve preferred to expand on my idea for a whole event but hives got a lot on their plate already.

good idea but prob wont be added to this years winter event as hive is pretty busy on Bedwars and other updates so prob wouldn’t be able to finish this if they decided to do this

Yeah I’m not saying it should come asap but it would def be a fun gamemode never the less even if it takes an extra year

I think this should be increased to 5xp and maybe depending on the rarity it could have different colours and different colours give you different xps

40% - Common - 5xp:

  • Teddy bear
  • Ornament Bombs

30% - Uncommon - 10xp:

  • Ice cubes
  • Gingerbread Wall

20% - Epic - 15xp:

  • Santa Hat
  • Red Nose

10% - Legendary - 20xp:

  • Smack Down Marlin (Clownfish aren’t festive maybe instead a Christmas pudding)

5xp per Checkpoint

15xp per hit point inflicted

And different xp for your place when you finish

@Blockbyblock98 Appreciate the data regarding the power ups I wished I had gotten into more detail about it👍 but regarding the common uncommon, etc presents system that would be heavily unbalanced in the player in 1st’s favor they could get the good presents first, the reason why it’s random is for balancing reasons the weaker player has the better odds to roll a better item that’s how it works in Mario kart and you shouldn’t fix what isnt broken.

so would this be like hyper racers from galaxite but in hives style (and by extension, better) ?

yep pretty much not that I dislike hyper racers, Galaxite in its current state isn’t doing so good, so it would be nice to have a more popular gamemode akin to that on the hive

I meannnnn Hyper racers is a copy of many prior racing games on minecraft Mineplex and Hypixel had one at one point as well as those being copies of mario kart so I don’t really think that’d be an issue

valid ngl. but HOWEVER I didnt know there was one was on mineplex or hypixel lol, so theyre even less likely to copy if its on hypixel. doesnt mean I dont want a racing game on hive tho

my point is that if they accuse hive of that it’d probably get laughed at, because in the end they are all copies of mario kart. I think Hypixel still has it but the games kinda dead so theres that.

This topic is moreso a copy of mario kart (and i love it for that) than the others. It even has it’s own blue shell

So i think it’s original enough (from other servers)
