Portal Wars [POLL]

Bump, very close to 100! There is effectively 0 way this will get added, but it’s a fun project I suppose. I might start working on this again soon as I’m slowly drifting back into the forums.

Yeah I like the idea, You can’t read it because the map is blurry but I put a building for this game in my map on this topic: The Arcade 2 (Completely new) - #5 by NotYoshi2

Thanks so much to everyone for the support on this post over the years! I may be updating it soon, I will welcome any feedback on how to make Portal Wars better if anyone has any, and again thanks so much to everyone for contributing to this milestone!

Maybe add a Portal reference? An Aperture Science advertisement or Wheatley’s robotic remains seems like a fun addition to the game.

The infinite loop idea still feels not fully fleshed out. So I would like to offer up my own suggestion. Take it or leave I don’t care.————————————————
What if this were a CTF LTM? The goal would be to capture a flag with the help of portals. With the flag portals wouldn’t work, so you would need your teammates to help you get back.
But how would you eliminate players? If they fall through one of your portals they take damage, while you get to use portals to teleport.

To connect the portals, there could just be like a number or symbol above them that links two together.

Anyway I love this idea and really hope it gets added.

I actually really like this idea - although, I think instead of a CTF system a payload sort of system could also work. It would have the same core principles (Portals being used to complete an objective, the damage to other players) but you’d also be able to use your portals to influence which side the payload goes to.

If you were the team defending the payload you’d have to fight to close enemy portals and kill enemy players, while if you attacked the payload you’d have to strategically place portals not only to catch out the enemy but to steer the payload in your direction.

Changes this big would take a while take a while to complete but I think are necessary, as you and others have said, the endless loops are not the greatest.

Maybe it isnt a ctf ltm but it you have like a thingy like a GLaDOS and you put cores on it to give it abilities similar to ctf upgrades and also that portal java thingy that took 5 years has finished!!

That sounds pretty good, though we do already have power-ups.

I have always thought that an infinite loop was gonna be hard to do. But I can’t come up with anything else…
