TO BE CLEAR,
The way it’ll detect whether or not you left early is if you requeue after the command to tp everybody to their plots is ran. The game will perform a check constantly to determine if a player has ran /q [game] based off of console. If you are eliminated, simply wait to be turned into a spectator then requeue. I know I know, how dare I suggest waiting 5 extra seconds.
To people saying “lag” and calling it a good counter-argument, every command will register with console, so either way you’ll be flagged.

When i used to play otg, i had an iPad that almost ALWAYS crashed, and I’m pretty sure that younger forumers and players have screen time, so another reason why maybe this shouldn’t be added.
I should point out that leaving counts as a loss. There is already incentive to not leave games.
Also, remember that sweats make up a very tiny portion of Hive’s community. For most people this will just be another reason not to play, requeuing is a big thing for a lot of people who don’t like the themes.
There aren’t that many people that requeue, it’s a very minimal loss to grinders if they already try and queue full lobbies. In my grind, there was only one lobby where only 5 were left. One out of 200 something where it was even noticeable. This is a non-issue currently.
For Speedbuilders, I do somewhat agree more here. It is very important that players do not leave, as it can severely affect your XP and quality of the game, much more than one person in Build Battle. Build Battle has reason for requeue and value in it, but in this game it’s just out of spite of better players. I do still think that this is slightly overkill, but I wouldn’t be opposed to it.

Since speed builder has no themes, there’s no incentive to requeue.

the incentive is to go against less sweaty players

Then the players wouldn’t leave mid-game. They’d re-queue before the game begins, which is less of a problem.

still leads to small lobbies

I don’t think most Hive players really care all that much about their statistics and would rather increase a number they don’t care about than play a game they know they’ll lose anyways.
Yeah, but it’s not like they’re the only ones requeueing.
They had the option to vote for the theme. Other players shouldn’t have their exp gain penalized because little Timmy couldn’t handle “penguin” being picked over “island”. Most players are kids who aren’t mature enough to just deal with what won. If they get out-voted, then that’s just the system working as intended.
Whilst grinders would benefit the most from this, it would promote good sportsmanship by accepting whatever theme was chosen and rolling with it.
That’s just not how statistics work. You are ONLY one person with one experience. There are many factors such as: Hours during which you played, region, queueing cycles, ages of players, players themselves, etc. I know you did not have any ill-will when presenting this, but this isn’t a statistic based on how a real statistic is created.
Yeah this was basically intended for Speed Builders, I just threw in Build Battle as a “Eh, why not can’t hurt”.
Keep in mind this would only affect you if you ran /q [game]. Leaving the game outright is the equivalent of a self-inflicted 1-2 minute ban which is the time length of the ban so there’s no reason to punish that. The ban would never increase in time, so the players aren’t punished too badly, but after a few times it’ll get annoying enough that players will stop. Alternatively, they could just prevent /q from working whilst you are in an on-going game you haven’t been eliminated from.
