Making uses of the switches in the backrooms

I was thinking, maybe the switches can be used by the murderer to power off the lights for 10 seconds and the murderer gets night vision, but the switch will cost the murderer 5-10 coins

Pretty sure this is already how it works, it costs 10 and turns the lights off for a bit.
