Make the keys at castle town cost coins

A lot of grinders use this map, because of the bow in this map. I use it too, but I rarely play mm

You get the bow too

bump they need to fix this!
Reminder! I like castle town but I think it needs to be fixed the devs should be consistent.

So the hive should remove the variants and the hunt from the backrooms to be more consistent with the other maps? Maps having gimmicks isn’t a bad thing, it’s a great thing. Makes it much more interesting.

I couldn’t agree with you more

sorry if I wasn’t clear when I said consistent, I meant about the cubes at pigment and the keys at castle town.
you can find what the devs said here.
The Hive - Updates - MURDER MYSTERY it is the second one down.
Why did they make the keys at castle town if they said that players thought that the cubes granting a bow was too overpowered!!
I am not trying to make people angry I am just stating facts.
Or do what @DaWhadurMonz said and make them cost coins.

You’re the only person I have ever heard say that. Hive isn’t going to remove the bow because you don’t like it. Sorry man.

You made your suggestion about your opinion.

I never said I said that. Did you even click on the link!

ā€œRemove the bowā€ is in the title my guy. Also I’m not reading all that for a suggestion I don’t really believe in in the first place.

if not remove it make it harder to get the keys by making them cost coins @DaWhadurMonz thanks for the idea

Read the suggestion before commenting on it

No one is saying that. We’re saying that they(Hive) nerfed the cubes on pigment, because it was too op granting a bow and arrow. Then they make a new map with the same feature(kinda), but easier.
How’s it easier? The whole lobby needs to find 3 keys together, on pigment you have to find the 3 cubes by yourself to receive the bow and arrow.

I don’t even remember what the original suggestion was but apparently it wasn’t that well-formatted so the original creator just made it into your idea. And your idea is to also nerf the keys? I could see a lot more players complaining about the keys costing money. Balancing out a nerf that was intended to balance a map with another nerf intended to balance out a map so both maps get nerfed? I didn’t even realize there was a nerf. Plus, not every player is not going to know how the keys work. Nor will the players always find all 3 of them quickly every game. This is going to be my last reply on this post because I’ve countered this and a sister post many times. You can reply with a rebuttal if you want, I’m probably not going to read it.

Yes, good job.

All it takes is ONE player to know how they work, and everyone will get a bow in a minute. Now the chances of it being only one person collecting the keys is extremely rare, so most games it’ll be faster than a minute. Plenty of players will stumble across a key and randomly smack it to see if it does anything.

Absolutely, but it’s needed for murders to have a chance at winning. Every getting a bow within a minute is ridiculous. Now don’t say the murders need to get better when your argument is saying players aren’t good/smart enough to collect the keys, that’d be silly.

Keys costing one coin doesn’t nerf it much, it only prevents them all being collected within the first few seconds of the game. That’s the main problem, how fast everyone is able to get that bow.

Personally I think that they should not remove them, but if they have to I think just add more keys like someone said, maybe have a quartz and a topaz or amethyst or something

This suggestion is entirely different now. It’s been edited :man_shrugging:

Now none of the replies makes sense. I would much rather if @BillyDaMan1 made a new topic instead of erasing this. So if people liked the original suggestion, they could vote for it.

This idea is dumb if you don’t like the map then don’t play it don’t ruin the fun and experience for everyone else each map has a cool gimmick about it dint take that away from people

I agree that if everyone consistently votes castle town, the game ends very quickly so I think your idea is good but you should raise the amount of coins to 5

I never said remove it

I mean you don’t have to explicitly say it’s dumb… And also don’t bump a topic just to disagree with it, it will get less attention if you ignore it

imo this mindset is very closed.

On the forums people are suggesting ideas to make the game more enjoyable for everyone, no matter whether you change it or not someone is not going to be happy. On that note, it needs to be weighed in that people are leaving the game because of how unenjoyable Castle Town is, then it needs to be taken into account as this may imply that Castle Town is not balanced.

As already mentioned ā€˜If Castle is voted constantly’ is actually somewhat true. I spent 3 days just queueing into Murder Mystery (3 Months ago), rqing and setting a pool of 100 games per day just to see what players were voting. And Castle had the largest amount of vote wins in every weekly pool, and had an overall for 3 days study of 29% winrate amongst the players voting. Of course I never influenced this personally, I would let the player base (the current players in the hub) decide without a party installed.

Now 29% doesn’t seem like a lot right? Well it is as the runner ups being Backrooms (20%) and Office (16%) all add up to 65% of the games map gameplay, almost two thirds of the maps gameplay. The rest of the maps excluding Toy House (8.3%) only just scape 5% of the map votes and the rest are below or well below.

Here is the data I’ve cited so far, I’ll be conducting new data soon to update and compare any changes in the games current state of map voting.:
Map Voting Data (3 Months Ago)

To conclude contrary to belief, Castle Town is an issue, and is still serving as one today as well, so I’ll be voting for the changes in Castle Town from any post until the appropriate nerfs are made to reduce Castle Towns high vote yield, but also afterwards Office and Backrooms should also be mildly addressed.
