I like the idea of Community Events. Recently, HiveMC Java had a Pumpkinfection tournament where players had 36 hours (I think) to get as many pumpkin kills in 50 games as possible. So maybe make community events for Ghost Invasion in the furture (as it is most likely to do it this year for Ghost Invasion considering this Limited Time Gamemode is going to be retired 'til next year.) Events like this could also happen for the classic 5 gamemodes that are available right now. Skin contests do sound like a fun idea as well though.
Community events are hard. I tried doing a treasure wars tourney. 200ish people signed up over a week in advance. Only 20 showed up. So we had to ditch the tournament format and problems happened and it sucked.
True but it would be a lot more organized if it was officially run by Hive staff
