Many people have said this already, but I’d like to say it as straightforward as possible. Hive has made their decision and they will replace tw with bw. BW will be the same concept, and it’s unlike Hive to make exactly the same game as another server. We have almost no idea what BW will be like, so just chill until it releases. there’s no reason to call BW a dupe when we don’t even know what it’ll be like. When BW does release, and we’ll have either a 1 week or 2 week (I forgor) warning with an XP boost in TW, see what it’s actually like, and then criticize it.

Hive did say in their post that the core parts of Treasure Wars are still gonna be there. They’re just rebranding the game and expanding upon what they already have to make it feel fresh.

Anyway i actually look forward to this change. I want to say that i play bedwars, given hypixel is only on java and i play bedrock.
Tp be honest, I couldn’t really care less if its BedWars or not, as long as they somehow fix the issue of getting rushed every single game, I’m fine with anything they add.
Rushing is a part of the game and makes it unique and interesting.
I would like to say, why. Why. I know I rush, but it basically makes new players not like the game. Rushing is also part of every skywars or bedwars style game mode, so how is it unique?
I mean, no matter how slow or long a game is, rushing is gonna be part of almost every PvP game. However, I feel that rushing in TW is too easy because every island is just crushed together in almost every map (Especially Aero, which is why I believe it to be the worst TW map in existence, and no one can convince me otherwise.)
The whole process of rushing in TW just feels so thoughtless because its just so easy to pull off and theres pretty much no risk for doing it compared to other similar games.
Like in Hypixel BedWars for example, you can’t just mindlessly rush someones base without getting some items to prepare you for it. You don’t know how many traps or fireballs could be shoved in your face if you aren’t careful. In TW, you can pretty much win without even needing more than half a stack of blocks and a sword (Maybe even without a sword if you’re good enough)
Sure, rushing itself isn’t that unique.
But the fist fight are.
The problem is, the fist fights get really boring since thats literally all you do in the beginning of every match. Theres very little variety in gameplay to make it actually fun instead of it just being sligtly different from other versions of BedWars. And as I said before, though the rushing process is a bit different, its still extremely thoughtless since theres very little risk to doing it.

I‘s not gonna be a hypixel copy. Many servers have bedwars and I‘m sure hive will make something unique. There are already many forum posts talking about that.
To rushing: I think rushing can make the game more interesting.
The fist fights are very competitive and include strategy too.
(Defending the bed or trading? Going mid for emeralds?)
Sure, rushing makes it pretty hard for newer players.
But that‘s the case in every pvp based gamemode…
The only solution would be skill based matchmaking or splitting the community in rush and casual bedwars. Both would increase the waiting time and make the game less enjoyable.
In my opinion, rushing can infact make the game interesting if done right.
There needs to be some sort of risk factor that prevents the offensive playstyle from having too big of an advantage and having it easy (Which TW lacks). Otherwise, it would be painfully boring (Which TW is right now).
You should not be able to get a free win by using only blocks and a stone sword (Like you can in TW).
There has to be a need to prepare and come up with a strategy for rushing in. (Which TW lacks).
There also needs to be a good variety in items you can use to help you win to make fights and the game as a whole more interesting (Which TW severely lacks).
I mean, sure there is some level strategy to the fist fights (This could be argued for basically any game that has fights), but that alone is not near enough to make it more interesting, since you basically do this every single game, and end up doing the exact same thing after. And for the points I brought up about what makes rushing interesting, TW lacks in pretty much every single one of those points. As a result, the rushing process is thoughtless, repetitive, and boring.
Rushing is something almost every sweat in the community likes.
You get fast kills/treasures and the fist fights/sumo fights are pretty competitive.
Casual players mostly don’t like rushing, because they get destroyed in the first few seconds of the game. So thats splits the community.
Increasing the distance between the islands would be an idea so that you need 1 Stack of wool to get to you opponents base. That would give them the time to get a sword and some blocks too.
But I thinks that the competitive site of the hive wouldn’t really like this change.
The stats reset is already a big thing. But removing the fist fights would cause even more good players to leave. At the end you can’t make it perfect for both sites.
If there are multiple sweats in a game gear makes a huge difference.
Especially snowballs can get you easy wins.
In the upcoming bedwars update we will get many new items and team upgrades.
That should add new and different play-styles to the game.
As a starting content creator, I believe this change will benefit many content creators as not many java players are searching for treasure wars, they are searching for bedwars, meaning that you will reach a larger audience and not just hive players who know what treasure wars is. I do see how the level reset is upsetting but I believe there will be a new xp system meaning that it may be easier or harder to level up so they want everyone to have a leveled playing field. I dont think this forum suggestion would actually be considered, there is a lack of detail, evidence and many more. But I see what you mean.
Obviously we shouldn’t drag the game too much, and make the island distance too big. I was thinking there could be more of a balance where rushing would still be a viable strategy, but there would be more of a risk for doing it compared to right now. For smaller maps I think the distance should be increased by about 10-15 blocks (In the case of Aero, it as a whole needs a rework), and maybe a little less for some of the bigger maps.
I also think base traps would be a perfect thing to add to prevent rushing from being so overpowered. Now, I don’t agree with every item the suggester listed, but I think Hive could come up with something good enough to get the job done.
Overall, yeah, rushing can be fun, but it shouldn’t completely overshadow every other playstyle like it does right now. Otherwise, the meta would be left one sided and the game would very quickly become stale and lose traction. Balance is a thing.
