My idea is to have hive support 1.16.221 or whatever the newest 1.16 update for longer than past updates. So instead of dropping 1.16 let’s say a few months into 1.17, maybe keeping it for until 1.18 or 1.19 if possible. I am just thinking since 1.17 is such a big update it would be good to hold on to players with lower end devices long. I hope this makes sense I got very little sleep last night so sorry
I wasn’t saying my pc was bad, I meant to add a coma right there. I meant for like lower end devices, phones that type of stuff. I don’t have my FPS capped at all, I get really high FPS when not looking at players and when I look at players or load up any game I drop to 20ish FPS, since this is a fresh install of windows I have I don’t have anything running in the background that would affect my FPS.
I am also saying that The Hive already does support 1.16.221! So there’s no need of suggesting this as it’s already a feature.
But for the future
Ayo, the Hive has no plans for removing the 1.16 support currently, and he’s saying that. And do you realise what you’re asking for? Keep support for 1.16.221 till 1.18 or even 1.19 updates? How impractical is that, since a lot of players will move on to 1.17 after it fully releases.
And, it will also cost the Hive more money to maintain a server base from 2 updates ago (assuming 1.18 releases) which no one plays. You need to wait for future 1.17 updates which might fix your lag and fps drop problems
As stated, the future updates will require newer versions and the Hive can only do one thing to maintain support for 1.16 for a long time, and that is no updates. So you’d rather have no updates instead of upgrading your Minecraft. Some lag bug fixes should be fixed in 1.17.201 so you should update and check. If the issue persists, just downgrade Minecraft! But, when it loses support for 1.16 you have to eventually update Minecraft. That’s how it goes man, you gotta understand.
If you couldn’t tell I am kinda trolling, my suggestion was valid, however the responses I have given were semi trolls
Hey! Have you read the rules?
- Trolling, abuse, derailing, flaming, provocation, or arguing is not allowed.
So please don’t do that!
64gb ram on a i7 with only a 1080Ti kind of proved that, but alright
Edit- To elaborate on that, after someone knowing much more told me that 64gb ram is overkill and 1080Ti might’ve been the best card at the time you bought it. And I oop-
this person is actually having a decent conversation, even if they are somewhat trolling, honestly they are better than most people who join the forums to write a suggestion.
also ignore what chaos said. I just corrected him on discord lol
Agreed, but still trolling is bannable and I don’t want another user to be suspended for it.
trolling to this slight degree isn’t punishable. in a way bringing it up and starting this whole off topic conversation causes more issues.
Hmm ok.
Thanks for the clarification.

Guys do not confuse 1.17.2 with 1.17.20 they both are different
Uh
No
1.17.2 is actually 1.17.20
But
1.17.2 is not 1.17.201
It’s 201 not 20
Because 0.1 = 0.100000000000000(infinite)
Unless versions don’t work like maths.
they are different according to my sources try reading this Bedrock Edition 1.17.2 – Minecraft Wiki
the first line says not to be confused with 1.17.20
Ahh great, now i need to fix my sky overlay on newer version cause it makes the sky texture broke
The conversation goes a bit off-topic.
Hive will always have to update to newer versions in order to give the players the best experience on the server. As mentioned above, 1.16 is currently still supported, but new minigames will require version 1.17). I don’t know, but I could imagine that support for version 1.16 will end with the 1.18 update in late 2021 or sometime in the future. I don’t think there are any plans to end version 1.16 support yet.
The Sonic the Hedgehog Event which is coming soon will require version 1.16.201 or a more recent version
